Political Cadre Development Program (PCDP): Democratic Devolution and Local Governance for Multiparty Political Cadre: Training Held in Lower Dir
Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA) in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Pakistan organized two-day Political Cadre Development Program (PCDP) training on the topic of “Democratic Devolution and Local Governance” for multiparty political cadre on November 21-22, 2022 in district Lower dir.
The training was purposed to equip the grassroots political party workers and political influencers with essential concepts of democratic devolution, 18th Constitutional Amendment and resulting devolved matters, local government system and other relevant topics to strengthen the political system for better democratic participation. The local leaders and representatives of political parties were oriented on the issues and challenges related to the implementation of the legal framework (i.e. implementing 18th Constitutional Amendment, role and responsibilities of Council of Common Interest, problems and way forward regarding NFC Award etc.) and challenges related to governance and their workable political solutions. It also sought to provide the political workers with practical tools to implement the training lessons, especially about social stakeholder management, such as press relations, community mobilization, and local governance.
The participants included district and tehsil level political workers, and office-bearers from all major political parties. The participants actively engaged in all activities and enthusiastically participated in the interactive sessions. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Abdul Wali Khan was the Chief Guest of the event. He admired the efforts of Shaoor Foundation and Hanns Seidel Foundation for enhancing the capacities of the lower cadre of political parties.
