The training was proposed to equip the grassroots political party workers and political influencers with essential concepts of democratic devolution, the 18th Constitutional Amendment and resulting devolved matters, the local government system, and other relevant topics to strengthen the political system for better democratic participation. The training also sought to provide the political workers with practical tools to implement the training lessons, especially with regard to social stakeholder management, such as press relations, community mobilization, and local governance.
The training was attended by 35 participants from diverse fields. These included district and tehsil level political workers and office-bearers from all major political parties along with members of bar councils and media. The participants actively engaged in all activities and enthusiastically participated in the interactive sessions. They appreciated the joint venture by HSF Pakistan and SFEA and vowed to disseminate the learnings from the training to their respective political parties and social circles.
Ms. Uzma Riaz Jadoon, MNA from PTI, and Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Mr. Tariq Salim Marwat applauded the efforts of Hanns Seidel Foundation and Shaoor Foundation for arranging the program and educating the grass root workers and emphasized the replication of the same learning model to other districts of the province.
